"Eating a healthy breakfast is deeply rooted in American tradition. A few decades ago nearly everyone began the day with breakfast. Still tray, 93% of Americans believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but surprisingly only 44% eat it everyday. Since the 1970's, US consumption of breakfast has been on the decline and fewer people are reaping its benefits. This is especially the case among teenagers where only 38% eat breakfast every day." - Children's Hunger Alliance
Here at Western Brown, we feel that our students should start out their day with a healthy breakfast and by doing this, helps in their learning and being more prepared for their day at school. Congratulations to our cafeterias and all of our ladies who make going through the lunch line an enjoyable part of the day!

Health and Wellness Assessment

Dear WB,
Every three years we are required to assess our health and wellness policies, procedures, and activities across the district.  Our policy states that as a district we will address specific criteria that we deem important for our students and staff to be healthy and well.  The following results are from our 15 - 16 assessment conducted by our advisory council members.  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact our Food Service Supervisor, Stella Schneider, or the Assistant Superintendent, Jina Bohl.

Community Connectors

WB encourages our parents and community to give us input on our programs such as food services. We want to make sure you are aware that you can send us comments or questions on our food services and our wellness activities.  Our wellness policy is posted below for easy access.  Please let us know if you have any questions concerning policies or services.  WB completes an evaluation every three years on wellness compliance actions, to assess progress on chosen strategies, and determine areas of improvement.  We welcome your input on any of these areas within our wellness policy.  Thank You
