The Raider Team is a military skills and fitness team. Raiders compete against other JROTC programs throughout the region. They perform tasks that may be found in a conventional Army units such as the Physical Fitness Test, 5K Run, Constructing a Rope Bridge, Obstacle courses, Land Navigation Courses, First Aid Litter Carry, Orienteering and 5K Foot March.
It requires solid grades (strict academic requirements), upper body strength, significant cardiovascular stamina (running 3-5 miles per Raider Meet), and total commitment to the team. Raiders “IS NOT” for everybody!!!
All cadets are eligible to volunteer for the team provided they meet the following requirements:
1. Discipline, physical and mentally tough
2. Be approved by the SAI/AI and have the desire, motivation, and capability of becoming a Raider
3. Agrees to participate in Raider competitions.
Raiders’ is physically demanding and takes a lot of time. If you’re up for a challenge then Raiders might just be for you!!!
Activities/Competitions: Competitions will be conducted at local, state, or national levels. Upon successful completion of competitions, cadets qualify for the following awards:
Three competitions: RAIDER Ribbon
Five competitions: RAIDER Arc Pin
Seven competitions: RAIDER Cord (Black)
