Bronco Raider Team

Raiders Travel To Ripley

On Staurday 14 September 2019 the Western Brown HS JROTC Raider Team traveled to Ripley, Ohio to compete in the Raider Meet hoested by the Marine Corps JROTC program from Ripley Union Lewis Huntington High School.  Good showing place the Broncos placing thir overall in the competition.

Grant County Raider Meet 7 September 2019

A strong group of Cadets from Western Brown High School attended the Raider Meet at Grant County High School on 7 September 2019.  The Broncos fielded 3 teams with the all female team placing 3rd overall in that category.  Well done Raiders.

RAIDER TEAM

The Raider Team is a military skills and fitness team. Raiders compete against other JROTC programs throughout the region. They perform tasks that may be found in a conventional Army units such as the Physical Fitness Test, 5K Run, Constructing a Rope Bridge, Obstacle courses, Land Navigation Courses, First Aid Litter Carry, Orienteering and 5K Foot March. 

It requires solid grades (strict academic requirements), upper body strength, significant cardiovascular stamina (running 3-5 miles per Raider Meet), and total commitment to the team.  Raiders “IS NOT” for everybody!!!

All cadets are eligible to volunteer for the team provided they meet the following requirements: 

 1. Discipline, physical and mentally tough

 2. Be approved by the SAI/AI and have the desire, motivation, and capability of becoming a Raider

 3. Agrees to participate in Raider competitions. 

Raiders’ is physically demanding and takes a lot of time. If you’re up for a challenge then Raiders might just be for you!!!

Activities/Competitions: Competitions will be conducted at local, state, or national levels. Upon successful completion of competitions, cadets qualify for the following awards:

Three competitions: RAIDER Ribbon
Five competitions: RAIDER Arc Pin
Seven competitions: RAIDER Cord (Black)
